Daverio1933 at VicenzaOro: Titanium Novelties

The first fair of 2025 was for Daverio1933 the opportunity to present as a preview, in an international context, its new titanium creations.

Titanium confirmed itself as a major protagonist of VicenzaOro 2025’s proposals: although not a noble metal, it is appreciated for its characteristics of resistance and lightness, which make it suitable for creating jewelry even of large dimensions. Daverio1933’s choice is to embellish titanium, thanks to the combination with gold and diamonds and an original and refined design.

For its ForEverHug Me, Ricci and Masterpieces collections, Daverio1933 has therefore created new titanium proposals that feature two different finishes: one oxidized, with an almost black effect, and another, on the contrary, very light, of a gray that approaches the appearance of white gold. Both finishes are enriched by the presence of diamonds and gold details. The black effect, in particular, accentuates the contemporary style of the Ricci collection jewelry and has aroused interest from foreign markets as well.

The high jewelry collection Sidereum has also been enriched with a new creation, a smaller version of the Orion ring.

Among the other novelties presented at VicenzaOro 2025, also some new yellow gold jewelry, for the ForEverHugMe and Ricci collections.

The event also hosted the second edition of the project “The 8 – 4 designers x 4 Curators”, which aims to promote new jewelry talents. The initiative offers four selected young people the opportunity to present themselves for the first time in a professional event, accompanied by as many experienced jewel designers. Each tutor follows their student in all phases of the project, also playing the role of sponsor for expenses related to materials, prototyping and marketing, up to the final presentation at the fair.

Luca Daverio was sponsor and tutor of Emma Calce, 23 years old, recent graduate of the Jewelry Design degree course at IED Rome, who at VicenzaOro 2025 presented two collections, “Skin” and “Barena: water roots”.

The Skin collection was born as a project for my thesis at IED Rome explains Emma Calce.— Inspired by butterfly wing scales, Skin focuses on the uniqueness of these fragments, which, in addition to giving colors and patterns, give the butterfly a unique identity, just like fingerprints for human beings. To create the jewelry, I used glass fragments recovered from the waste of Ellegi Murano Glass glassworks and collaborated with a lampwork glass artisan, to create resistant beads thanks to an oxygen-free technique.

For “The 8” project, thanks to the collaboration with Luca Daverio, I had the opportunity to create the “Barena: water roots” collection, a tribute to the Venice Lagoon, where land and water coexist in perfect balance. The barena is an environment rich in biodiversity, but unfortunately in constant danger due to climate change. The collection’s jewelry takes up the shapes of channels, islets and fishing areas typical of the barena. Thanks to Luca Daverio’s advice and experience, I managed to create a collection entirely modeled in wax, which was then cast in 925 silver, with the setting of Murano glass fragments recovered from Ellegi Murano Glass glassworks “.
