ALEXANDRITE, JUNE’S PRECIOUS STONE

The gemstone of June is Alexandrite, a variety of chrysoberyl.
In 1833 it was discovered for the first time in the emerald mines of the Ural Mountains.

When it was extracted, it was given as a gift to the future Tsar Alexander of Russia, from whom it took its name. Despite being little known, it is among the most sought-after gems in the world of fine jewelry.
Its distinctive feature is linked to its color nuances that tend toward green when exposed to sunlight, while they approach red-violet when illuminated by an incandescent lamp. Due to its unmistakable beauty, hardness and rarity, it is one of the most expensive stones on the market and its price increases the more visible the color change is.
Few people know this, but 45 years of marriage are called “alexandrite wedding anniversary,” emphasizing its value. It is believed to bring good fortune for health, prosperity and fame to those who wear it. It also helps in making bold decisions and protects from adverse circumstances. Wearing alexandrite stone can prevent the onset of pancreatic and spleen diseases; it gives hope by providing awareness of the many possibilities available.
One must be careful because many synthetic reproductions and imitations are widespread in the world.
