To avoid possible damage, here is what <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jewelers.org\/education\/jewelry-care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">experts<\/a> recommend for jewelry care: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>wear them last, after applying creams, makeup, perfumes, hairspray;<\/li>\n<li>avoid contact of jewelry with body wash, shampoo, lotions;<\/li>\n<li>remove jewelry when doing household chores, such as cleaning or gardening;<\/li>\n<li>do not wear precious necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings when going to the hairdresser or beautician<\/li>\n<li>do not wear them at the beach or in the pool, to avoid contact with salt water or chlorine-based products, which can damage metals and precious stones, and in summer, remove them before applying sunscreens and lotions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Even following these rules, it is still advisable to <strong>clean jewelry<\/strong> made of gold and precious stones regularly.<br \/>\nWhere is it better to clean jewelry: at home or at the jeweler&#8217;s? Here are some useful tips.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;50095&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>How to Clean Jewelry at Home<\/h2>\n<p>Home cleaning is quite simple and does not require special tools or products. It is sufficient to have a soft-bristled brush (avoiding those with stiff bristles that could scratch gold or more delicate stones), liquid dish detergent and a soft cloth (preferably microfiber). <\/p>\n<p>To <strong>clean jewelry<\/strong> at home, simply immerse them in a bowl where you have poured lukewarm water (avoid water that is too hot, which could damage some stones) and a few drops of liquid dish soap. Carbonated water can also be used: the carbon dioxide, in contact with the detergent, helps remove dirt. The jewelry should be left in this solution for 10-15 minutes and then gently brushed with a soft-bristled toothbrush.
